We are currently headed from Fort Lauderdale to Palm Beach for a few days while the guests are on board. It is about a 5 hour trip up the intracoastal waterway and entails going through 12+ bridges which all open on different schedules. Jake has timed out how to make it through all of them and still get to the dock at a decent time. We had to leave the dock at 1pm sharp in order to make the first bridge opening scheduled at 1:15.... actually just missed an opening which sets us back 20 minutes (every bit counts when you are chasing daylight). Bridge operator just said 'sorry cap, didn't get here soon enough' :-p .
Jake and Ben making it happen
The guests on board all have a good sweet tooth, so I decided to make some red velvet cupcakes with homemade cream cheese icing yesterday. They were a big hit! Jake's cheese plate also went over very well. Dinner was by far the best though with swordfish steaks fresh from the Finster Murphy's Seafood Market, sauteed asparagus, croissant rolls & stone crab claws. YUM!
